Pembrokeshire Tourism's charity of the year

The county’s leading tourist association carefully selects a local charity to support each year as part of its commitment to Pembrokeshire.

The PSF, Pembrokeshire’s only ‘Hospice at Home’, offers hands on care, equipment loan and other services to those living with any life-limiting illness. The registered charity offers all services free of charge, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.

The PSF is part-funded by the Welsh Government, National Health Service and Pembrokeshire County Council. However, 76% of funds are raised through public donations and around 74p from every £1 donated goes directly to the clinical services.

Charity Manager Sandra Dade was “delighted” the PSF had been selected as Pembrokeshire Tourism’s charity for 2014.

“Local business partnerships are a really important part of fundraising and raising awareness of the Hospice at Home services that the Paul Sartori Foundation delivers,” she said. “We'd like to say a huge thank you to Pembrokeshire Tourism Limited for choosing us to be their charity of the year. Their help is vitally important in our aim to deliver good end of life care throughout Pembrokeshire”

As part of Pembrokeshire Tourism’s commitment to their charity of the year, the organisation will be fundraising and supporting the PSF at major events including the Pembrokeshire County Show. In addition to this, there will also be a grand raffle in aid of the charity during the Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards ceremony this October.

The service and support the Foundation provides to people in Pembrokeshire affected by a life-limiting illness is incredible. Given that this is all provided free of charge, it is vital that the Foundation are supported to ensure it can continue to provide this help to families at such a difficult time.”
