CRYMYCH fire station held a successful open day on Tuesday, August 26.

The annual event took place on the same day as Crymych food festival.

People from the surrounding area came along to the station to meet their local firefighters and learn more about the fire and rescue service.

Children were able to play on the fire engine and do some colouring inside the station.

A raffle was also on offer and Fire Fighters Charity merchandise was available for the public to buy, with all proceeds going towards the Fire Fighters Charity – which helps members of the fire and rescue community who put their lives on the line every day to save others.

Firefighter Lee Simmons carried out a chip pan fire demonstration in the afternoon and the Service’s Urban Search and Rescue Team was also in attendance, with new puppy 'Celt' who begins his search and rescue training this week.
