FIREFIGHTERS were helpless in preventing a car from being destroyed by fire on Friday night (September 12).

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service received the report of a car 'well alight' in Wavell Crescent, off Bush Street at 9.50pm.

One crew from Pembroke Dock attended and made use of two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera.

A spokesman from the control room said the car was a private motor vehicle and was 'totally destroyed' by the fire.

Firefighters made the scene safe before they left at 10.34pm.

The cause of the fire has yet to be confirmed by the fire service.
