A CHARITY coffee morning in Pembroke last month raised £250 for Welsh children’s cancer charity Latch.

Organiser Claire Thomas, from Begelly, thanked local firm Capital Roaster for donating the coffee machine and coffee, and Celtic Wines, Celtic Food and Pembrokeshire Packing for the kind donations.

Claire, 33, was twice treated for leukaemia when she was growing up.

“I was very poorly when I was 12, and again when I was 15, when I had a bone marrow transplant, but I am now fine,” she explained.

“The LATCH charity was wonderful to me and my family when I was having treatment in Cardiff, which is why I wanted to become a community ambassador for them.”

In her role as community ambassador, Claire has already organised a host of successful local fundraisers

LATCH supports the children who are receiving treatment for cancer at the Children’s Hospital for Wales, together with their families, and Claire will be able to help with fundraising throughout south Pembrokeshire; receive cheques at presentations and give talks to schools and organisations on the role of the charity.

Anyone who would like to fundraise for LATCH or who would like more information can contact Claire on 07747 421731
