A LOCAL building contractor has raised money for the Wales Air Ambulance after suffering a serious fall.
Dylan Adams of Llawhaden fell 30 feet from a roof and landed on his back.
An air ambulance crew was on standby due to concern of damage to Dylan’s spine and head, but due to the location of his accident a road ambulance was able to get to the scene quickly and treat Dylan.
The fall made Dylan realise the importance of getting to patients as quickly as possible, and he made a pledge to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance.
He raised £2,300 in sponsorship by taking part in a parachute jump at Swansea airport last month and presented the cheque to the charity’s community coordinator for Pembrokeshire Tony Key.
Tony said: "It takes people like Dylan to keep the helicopters in the air and his latest fundraiser will help save lives of others."
Wales Air Ambulance relies entirely on donations to raise more than £6 million that is needed each year to fund the cost of the helicopters.
