GOODWICK’S promising young brass players received another boost this week when the Principality Building Society in Fishguard helped them to purchase another new instrument.
The winning ways of the senior Goodwick band has generated growing interest among youngsters in the area and the band is developing an enthusiastic junior section.
New players are provided with an instrument and this latest sponsorship of £370 has helped the band to purchase a new baritone horn.
“It is very helpful when organisations like the Principality Building Society show that they care about the local community in this way,” said Goodwick Brass Band chairman Tony Evans.
“It’s terrific to see the youngsters taking up music and funding like this helps us to make sure they have access to good instruments.”
