A special concert in aid of the Royal British Legion will take place at St Jerome’s Church Llangwm today (Friday).

Goodwick Brass Band will be playing a special repertoire of music from the Second World War and behind the band will be a large screen showing images in synchronisation with the music.

“We tried something very simple two years ago,” said organiser Pam Hunt.

“This year we have been more ambitious.

“We live in a world of sound and vision through our TVs, our computers, smart phones and tablets. So bringing a significant additional value to a music performance by a band of the calibre of Goodwick Brass makes what is a concert like so many others into something that people won’t forget.

“It is, if you like, Llangwm’s own Festival of Remembrance.”

There will be a special guest appearance at the concert: Ted Owens, one of Pembrokeshire’s last surviving Normandy veterans will be taking part. The concert will also welcome the Haverfordwest branch of the Royal British Legion.

Tickets are on sale – £7 for adults, £3.50 for children – at Llangwm village shop or by calling Pam Hunt on 01437 899 966 or emailing pamela-hunt@btconnect.com.
