An exhibition of Scouting past and present is being held at Pembroke Dock’s Pater Hall today (Saturday, November 1).

The exhibition takes place between 10am and 3pm.

Manager of Pembrokeshire Scout Active Support, Margaret Brown said:

“We have decided to hold an exhibition of Scouting in Pembroke Dock as part of the town’s bi-centenary celebrations, and the Scout Groups around the Pembroke and Pembroke Dock area, and members of Pembrokeshire Scout Active Support, have got together to show what modern Scouts are about and to show memorabilia and photographs of the past.

“We are hoping that anyone who has been in Scouts in the past, or whose family members have been in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer or Leaders in Scouts, will come along to see if they can identify photographs, that we may have, of recently or further back in time when some of the sections had other names like Senior Scouts or Rovers.

“We would also like anyone with any photographs of Scouts to bring them along for us to have a look at.

“We are trying to put together archives of the history of Scouts in Pembrokeshire and would love to have a copy of older photographs of Scouts in the county.”
