Hundreds of Santa Claus suits are being provided by Oakwood Theme Park for the annual Tenby Santa Run today (Sunday).

This is the second year the attraction has co-sponsored the charity run alongside Sign Speed and they are hoping it will be the most successful ever.

The event will be the fifth one organised by Tenby Ladies Circle and is expected to attract up to 200 competitors.

Oakwood Theme Park’s Clare Stansfield said: “We’re very pleased to be supporting this event again this year. It is growing in popularity every year and it’s quite a sight to see hundreds of Santas pounding the streets of Tenby to raise money for charity.”

The run will be approximately three kilometres around the streets of Tenby, with each entrant receiving a Santa Claus suit to run in.

Event co-organiser, Kath Morgan, said: “We’re once again holding this event as part of the Christmas festivity weekend and hope people will come and support us.

“You don’t have to be a runner, the course is only about two miles and can be walked in very little time.

“It’s all about having fun at Christmas, and if we can raise money for local charities at the same time then it is definitely worth it.

“This event is growing every year and the sight of Santas running through the streets of Tenby puts a smile on everyone’s faces,” she added.

Funds raised from this year’s event will go to Tenby and District Friends of the Community.
