WHAT do pink-haired fairies, reindeers and elves have in common? They all took part in the third annual Broad Haven Xmas Pudding Run on Sunday.

Almost 150 entrants braved icy winds to tackle the 10km circuit, and each and every finisher was rewarded with a Christmas pudding.

The village's Ocean Cafe Bar played host to the event, dishing out free mince pies and mulled wine to racers and stewards following the fun run, which raises money for registered charity Broad Haven Playgroup.

"This is the driest year we've had so far!" laughed organiser Hazel Rudder. "We got a really good turn out. It's a bit of fun and it brings more people in to the village at Christmas time."

St Brides Bay Clothing made merchandise including hats and t-shirts for the event, and is donating all profits to the playgroup.

"I'd like to thank everybody who has supported us, particularly Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club who lent us their equipment and signs, and helped us out with the paperwork," said Hazel. "And thanks to Broad and Little Haven Coastguard for providing First Aid cover."
