FATHER Christmas took time out from his busy schedule to pay a visit to the children of Haverfordwest.

Wearing colourful regalia and their chains of office, Town Mayor Councillor Roy Thomas and Mayoress Shirley Thomas joined Town Sheriff Cllr Ellen Repton in the rotund man in red’s sleigh when it drew up on Castle Square.

While local singers belted out popular tunes to entertain the crowds, families queued patiently for a chance to meet Mr Christmas.

Proud granddad Paul Hitchcock is pictured in the sleigh with his granddaughters Leah and Leila Thomas, who live in Haverfordwest.

“The Town Council, our staff and I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas,” said Roy. “I am here to do whatever I can to look after Haverfordwest and its residents, so if anyone has concerns or worries regarding the town, I would ask them to give us a ring and I will do what I can to help.”
