RETROSPECTIVE planning permission for a 1,300 sq. metre cattle shed and adjoining slurry lagoon at Brynhyfryd farm, Wolfscastle, was given unanimous approval on Tuesday (December16).
Applicant Michael George told members of the county council’s planning committee that stock numbers at the farm had grown, and the pressure on existing resources had meant a need for new facilities.
Wolfscastle Community Council had objected to the application on the ground of ‘visual and odour impacts’, but were not present at the meeting.
In a report presented to members, the council’s Head of Public Protection said no complaints over odour had been received about the farm since 2005, and that the extension had been designed to match neighbouring buildings.
