FIRE crews from Haverfordwest were called to a small fire outside Premier Inn in Haverfordwest this morning (Sunday), which is believed to have been started deliberately.
Two appliances attended at around 6.26am, leaving the scene at 7.49am.
No-one was hurt in the incident, but 133 people were evacuated to the neighbouring Marstons restaurant while the fire was extinguished.
Station manager Craig Thomas, speaking on behalf of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said the fire was caused by a 'deliberate ignition outside the fire door to the property'.
Reports suggested an argument took place between two people before the fire was started.
Staff and guests were allowed back into the hotel at around 8.30am.
Mr Thomas thanked residents for their patience while the scene was made safe.
A spokesman for Premier Inn told the Western Telegraph: "We can confirm that early this morning police and fire services were called to deal with a external fire next to our Haverforwest site, causing smoke to enter the building and requiring it to be evacuated.
"All staff and guests were safely evacuated in accordance with our fire and safety procedures and we are continuing to cooperate with the emergency services."
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
