The UK Independence Party has announced the selection of two local candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Howard Lillyman is the candidate for Preseli Pembrokeshire and John Atkinson is the UKIP parliamentary candidate for Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire.

Howard Lillyman is 62 and the secretary/ founder member of Preseli Pembrokeshire UKIP constituency Party. He moved to Wales 12 years ago having worked previously for Oxford University as senior technician in the Chemistry department, where he designed and built teaching and research apparatus.

His hobby of scuba diving takes him all around the coast of Pembrokeshire and the Maldives where he photographs marine life.

“Only UKIP with its sensible policies can drive Britain forward and away from the failed EU and uncontrolled mass immigration that is reducing housing and work opportunities for our unemployed,” he said.

John Atkinson, 64, served in the rank of Major in HM Royal Marines. He is currently President of the Swansea Bay Royal Marines Association and Chairman of Llanpumsaint Allotment Association.

He said:

“I will campaign for the UK to leave the EU and therefore regain control of our borders, promote small and medium sized enterprises fight for excellence in education regardless of social or economic background and ensure that hospitals and surgeries remain free at the point of delivery”.
