A Narberth man who posted an indecent photo and video of his ex on social media was given a community order and a restraining order by Haverfordwest magistrates on Wednesday (January 21).

Nathan Rhys Lloyd, of Adams Drive, had previously admitted sending an offensive message on a public communication network as well as criminal damage and resisting a constable in the execution of duty.

Magistrates heard that 22-year-old Lloyd had been in a relationship with his victim for about three months. She ended it because she found him possessive and his behaviour unnerved her.

On November 2 of last year she became aware that he had posted a picture of her on her Instagram account, which has around 500 followers, and changed the password. She sent him a message expressing her shock to which he replied “you did this to yourself” along with a string of obscenities and accusations.

The woman was unable to delete the image as she could no longer access her account.

She then became aware that a video had also been posted showing her naked and titled “come on boys come and have a look”. Again she contacted Lloyd and again he replied with obscenities.

Later that evening the woman was at home with her three year old son when she became aware of Lloyd looking at her through the window. She was frightened. He asked her to let him in and she refused. He then kicked the door so hard that the door broke. He came running into the property.

The pair had an argument and both she and her young son were upset.

Lloyd returned home and later the police arrived to arrest him. He refused to come. When the officer went to handcuff him he struggled resulting in the officer falling to the floor. After about five minutes he put his hands out and allowed himself to be cuffed.

Magistrates handed down a two year community order with a building relationships programme and a supervision order. He was ordered not to enter the Friar’s Vault Public House or go near his ex’s home address.

A restraining order banning Lloyd from contacting, harassing or pestering his ex and banning him from going near her home address or a named pub. He was also banned from posting anything on social media referring to the woman.

Lloyd was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
