An innovative dance festival will take place in Milford Haven next month.

Arts Care Gofal Celf (ACGC) has announced the sixth annual D15 Dance Festival, which will take place between 10am and 9pm on May 23rd.

This year the festival is moving indoors and taking over the entire Torch Theatre for the day.

"This will offer groups performing the opportunity to perform within the Torch Theatre's main house managed by The Torch Theatre professional technician team," said ACGC's dance development manager, Laura Jenkins. "This means, lights, music and a pre performance rehearsal."

In the past the festival has included performances in a myriad of styles from break dance to belly dance, Morris dancing to moon walking, put on by groups, troops, classes and companies across west Wales and beyond.

The festival also offers multi-disciplinary workshops by independent artists, dancers, group leaders and teachers.

Moving the event indoors will mean that this year there will be a rehearsal space for performance groups, teacher and practitioner training workshops, graffiti workshops and the chance to help create part of a new permanent installation of graffiti on the roof. There will also sessions on drumming and DJing.

This year performances will be spread across four platforms; professional and professionals in training, inclusive, under 18 and over 18.

Performances and workshops will be ticketed, with tickets for each performance platform costing £3.50 (£2.50 concs and under fives free). Workshops will cost £2/£3 per person.

Any money generated by the festival will go to Arts Care Gofal Gelf, a registered charity which provides professionally delivered community arts classes, workshops and projects for disadvantaged groups across Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
