There is a chance to snap up Scarlets tickets, a guitar with free lessons, tickets for Oakwood and much much more at an auction tonight (Saturday) to raise funds for Haverfordwest school girl Shannon Folena.

Shannon, whose story featured on the front of the Western Telegraph last month, was seriously injured on Freemens Way when she was involved in a collision with a car.

The auction will be held almost exactly a year after the accident, which left Shannon unable to move independently or communicate.

Shannon is cared for round the clock by her family and a team of carers.

A recent fundraising campaign has raised enough money to buy an eye gazer for the 12-year-old. Shannon’s family hopes the specialist equipment, which Shannon will be able to control by moving her eyes, will enable her to communicate with them.

The fundraiser will help raise funds raised for sensory and other equipment which will enrich Shannon’s environment.

“All of that will bring her on and improve her quality of life,” said her father Paul. “We just want to get her back as much as possible.”

The auction will be held in Bethesda Chapel Hall, Neyland, at 1pm on Saturday, March 28.

There will also be stalls, refreshments, face painting raffles and tombola.
