IN THE early hours of Tuesday (April 21) morning St Davids RNLI all-weather (ALB) and inshore (ILB) lifeboats went to the aid of a 37ft yacht with two people on board, which had run aground in the entrance to Solva harbour.
As the lifeboats arrived on scene, both occupants had abandoned the yacht, ‘Otter’, and had boarded their tender.
The ILB transferred the two sailors to the safety of the ALB, and stood by for the incoming tide to re-float the yacht.
At 5.50am the yacht floated and the ALB towed the casualty vessel to Dale, where it was anchored safely.
