If you’re fed up with sweet-talking by General Election candidates, then a Whitland company is giving voters a chance to chew over their political promises.

Today (Thursday), people are being polled with a range of five chocolate bars, each featuring photos of the contenders for No 10.

Will it be The Labour Ed Millibar (dark chocolate with mint)? The Tory Toff-ee Bar (milk chocolate with toffee); the Plaid Cymru Leanne Bar (dark chocolate with dragon-hot chili); or The UKIP Bar (milk chocolate packed with fruit and nuts)?

And don’t overlook the white chocolate Lib-Dem Bar, which comes in a smaller size and promises to go with anything.

The taste tests are taking place in Cardiff Bay, where Lee Ann Smith, of Printed Chocolates, will be asking 100 people to sample the iPad-size bars.

The results will be updated throughout the day on social media under the hashtags #EdMilibar #ToryToffeeBar #UKIPNutty Bar #LeanneBar and #ChocVote.

Lee Ann and her husband Barry produce a range of chocolates for the corporate market, where through their special printing process - a closely-guarded secret - they print images directly onto bars of chocolate.

Said Lee Ann: “Unlike the promises made by politicians before May 7, you can eat the whole bar, photo included, and it won’t leave a bad taste in your mouth!”
