RNLI lifeguards jumped in to save bodyboarders again today, this time in big surf at Whitesands beach, near St Davids.
Two men and a woman in their 20s called for assistance after drifting out at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, July 1.
Senior RNLI Lifegaurd Steven Cristofaro, who was carrying out a safety patrol on the water’s edge at the St Davids beach, saw the three waving for help and paddled a rescue board out to them.
As the surf was a solid four foot and there were three people to assist, he signalled to fellow RNLI lifeguard Noah Harvatt, who was undertaking rescue board training in the water, to assist.
The woman was struggling most so Noah immediately took her back to the beach on his board. Steven towed one of the men to shore and the second man was able to regain the shore himself.
Once back on the beach the three were assessed but none were the worse after the incident.
A man in his late 20s was rescued while bodyboarding at Newgale yesterday (Tuesday).
RNLI lifeguards provide a daily safety service on Pembrokeshire beaches between 10am-6pm throughout the summer season.
