A group of three friends are setting off today (Tuesday) for a crazy drive down to the south of France to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Ben Jenkins from Templeton, Kenn Preston, Llanddewi Velfrey and Matthew McKay, Templeton have re-created the wonderful world of Barbie to embark on the Monte Carlo or Bust charity rally.
They have already raised nearly £500 for the cancer charity.
Their challenge is not only to complete the 4,000 miles in a vehicle costing £300 or less, but also to keep their street cred intact as they make the journey attired, respectively, as Barbie, her boyfriend Ken and sister Skipper.
Their X-reg Landrover Freelander – renamed the Barbielander – now sports pink and green paintwork in readiness for its crazy journey through six countries and back.
“There’s a few knocks, but Greens gave it a health check and it’s driveable,” said Ben. “People can sponsor us via uk.virginmoneygiving.com/montecarlo2015," said Ben.
