A 52-year-old man charged following a serious assault in Abercych on Friday (July 31) has been remanded to prison.

Dyfed-Powys Police said that Anthony Trevor Osmond, of Llandysul, had been charged with section 18 assault following an incident at around 10.30pm of Friday, July 31.

A 24-year-old man was injured and was conveyed to Morriston Hospital.

Osmond was remanded in custody until August 10 after appearing at Aberystwyth Magistrates Court this morning (Monday).

He is due before Swansea Crown Court on that date.

A 40-year-old female has been bailed while enquiries continue.

The 24-year-old victim remains in hospital in a stable condition and a family liaison officer is supporting his relatives.
