THE 14th Signal Regiment (Electronic Warfare) welcomed the public to its annual community day at Brawdy on Saturday.

Large crowds entered the gates of the Cawdor Barracks to show their support for the soldiers and their two nominated charities: the Royal Signals Benevolent fund and Withybush Hospital Special Needs and Parents (SNAP) programme.

Highlights of the day included The Knights of Middle England, which featured expert horsemen and women take part in medieval jousting and the Confederate and Union Re-enactment Society which fired off weapons from the American Civil War.

Displays came from Pembrokeshire Falconry, BWY Canine, the Air Training Corps band and from the Signals themselves.

Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club was also in attendance, with many members having worked in Brawdy over the years.

Captain Tim Holmes-Mitra was the lead planner for this year’s open day.

He said: “My team has worked very hard these past few months and we're proud of how the event has turned out.

“As always we've had excellent support from the community, but I should point out that our main partner Sodexo has been outstanding.

“Thank you from coming and supporting our two worthy charities. We hope you and your families thoroughly enjoyed yourselves. We look forward to hosting you next year at our 20th anniversary here in Brawdy.”
