TEN puppies illegally imported into Pembrokeshire last month have all found new, loving homes.

The puppies were rescued by the RSPCA after Dyfed-Powys Police discovered them being illegally imported from Rosslare Harbour to Fishguard Harbour on June 13.

The adorable puppies certainly captured people’s hearts and when RSPCA Newport Animal Centre announced the puppies were available for adoption last week they were all reserved in a matter of hours.

Home visits will now be arranged for the potential new owners - which is one part of the RSPCA’s rehoming process - and fingers crossed the puppies will soon be getting a fresh start with their new families.

Out of the 10 dogs, there were seven Labrador type dogs between 13 to 16 weeks – five male and two female. There were also three male terrier type dogs, which were nine to 12 weeks old.

Using Ireland as an inspiration - the animal centre named the boy puppies O'Connell, O'Driscoll, O’Gara, Darcy, McGrath, Guinness, and Zebo, and the two girls Imelda and Kora. A tenth puppy, Mozzie, has already been rehomed.
