VOLUNTEERS with the Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust had an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into conservation projects when they visited the RAF Museum at Cosford, Shropshire recently.
With the Museum’s Darren Priday as their guide, they were given access to the Michael Beetham Conservation Centre, which is not normally open to the public.
Recently the Trust - which runs the Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre in the Royal Dockyard Chapel - signed a partnership agreement with the RAF Museum.
Joining the group was Bill Proctor of Hundleton, who met up with Darren Priday for the first time in 30 years, since they had worked together at RAF St Athan.
For volunteer Alan Porter the visit brought back memories of his early RAF training at RAF Cosford before being posted to RAF Pembroke Dock - working on Sunderlands.
