A PEMBROKESHIRE social worker took a leap of faith last month to raise money for Shalom House.
Lesley Jenkins completed a tandem skydive at Netheravon in Wiltshire on August 15, collecting £565 for the palliative care centre in St Davids.
Along with her instructor, she leapt 13,500ft out of a plane and endured a 45 second freefall, reaching speeds of 120mph, before landing safely on the ground.
Lesley said: “I have always wanted to do a skydive and thought I would go for it this year.
“I know that Shalom do some fantastic work and that they rely heavily on donations to keep going, so I thought it would be good to raise even a small amount.
“I was hoping to raise about £250, but I have more than doubled that now, so I’m feeling pretty chuffed.”
Lesley said they skydive itself was an amazing experience, one she will definitely do again.
