Fishguard thrilled to the sounds of Jazz, blues and a whole lot more over the bank holiday weekend as the 12th Fishguard Jazz and Blues festival got joints all over the twin towns jumping.

The festival attracted jazz luminaries from the UK and beyond with headline acts Paul Lambe and the King Snakes, Polar Bear, Jodie Marie and the Red Stripe Band attracting huge audiences.

The event featured more than 40 bands playing at venues throughout Fishguard, Goodwick and the surrounding villages, with more than half of them free.

Workshops, sponsored by Conygar, gave amateurs a chance to hone their skills under the tutelage of musical masters, including guitar legend Del Rey, and Ghanaian master drummer Emmanuel Okuni Annang.

"It has been incredible," said festival organiser Alice Stonhold. "People have come from all over Wales and the UK for the festival and keep coming back year after year.

"Highlights have included the Red Stripe Band, Polar Bear and Emily Saunders. We've had sell out gigs and audiences dancing on the tables."

"Ticket sales have been good and the audiences have been fantastic. The festival is going from strength to strength and we are already making plans for next year."
