CELEBRATING its 30th Anniversary this year, the 2015 Camrose Vintage Working Day was a rip-roaring success, with more for visitors to see and do than ever before.

Crowds flocked to Folly Cross Fields on Saturday (August 29) to enjoy attractions including steam engines, classic cars and motorbikes, vintage tractor displays, a working farrier, a chainsaw sculptor, and a range of children’s entertainments.

Shoppers browsed the car boot sale and stalls selling items from sweet treats to beautiful wooden bowls and jewellery. The queue outside the Refreshment Tent was testament to the legendary quality of the food and drink available inside.

The well-organised show runs on volunteer power, and has a warm and welcoming community feel.

Once costs are covered, all the profits are distributed between local charities and organisations.

“I would estimate that, over the years, we’ve given away at least £140,000,” said volunteer Glyn Page. “There’s something a bit different about our show. We do the absolute best we can with limited resources, and I think people like to come because it reminds them of days gone by. We get a real mix of locals and visitors to Pembrokeshire, and we try to keep them entertained all day.”

Every visitor that spoke to the Western Telegraph had nothing but praise for the big-hearted family event.
