After heavy rain caused flooding across parts of Pembrokeshire yesterday (Monday) the Met Office has now issued a Yellow Warning weather warning of rain for Wednesday.

Persistent and at times heavy rain is expected to spread from the south to north during Wednesday, affecting much of England and Wales.

The rain is expected to ease from the southwest later on Wednesday.


This rain is expected to add to recent downpours and could cause further flooding.


Last night severe weather and surface water flooding, the Council received over 60 calls overnight and provided assistance to the Emergency Services.


Pembrokeshire County Council is still dealing with the clean-up of a number of areas and clearing of drains. 


Road closures remain in place at Gumfreston - Heatherton to Tenby road including Clicketts and also at Walton Hill, Broad Haven. Diversions are in place.


An Emergency Road Closure has been put in place on the C3016 between Crymych and Bwlchygroes as a result of damage to the carriageway caused by the overnight flooding.

Flooding on highway near Withybush Showground entrance and industrial estate. Flood signs erected.
Trafalgar Road junction with city road. Road breaking up due to sewer surcharging. On-going problem during heavy rain. Signs erected.
Flooding on highway at following locations in Haverfordwest – Days Roundabout, Cartlett road near multi-storey system, Barn Court, Barn Street, Thomas Parry roundabout, McDonalds Car Park Merlins Brook breached bank sand bags left.
Flooding at various locations along A478 Haverfordwest to St.Davids road. Flood signs erected.
Portfield to Broad Haven Road flooding. Flood signs erected.
Square & Compass flooding on highway. Signs erected.
Under railway bridge near Winsel tip road flooded. Blocked gullys
Sand bags requested at properties in Hywel Road H/west, Haven Road H/west. Broad Haven and Camrose.
Request from Fire Brigade for traffic management at McDonalds while pumping water from car park across trunk road into Merlins Brook.

8 Broad Haven, Marine Road and Broad Haven School – Flooding reported – Sandbags deployed

9 Heatherton to Tenby, including Clicketts – Full road closure – local diversons in place, due to surface water flooding. This road is still closed until further notice

10 Old Hakin Road, underneath Railway Bridge – Temporary road closure due to surface water flooding and several vehicles caught in flood – cleared blocked drains and reopened road at 0800 hours

11 Broad Haven, Walton Hill – Road closure in place – Surface water flooding – Vehicle stuck in flood. This remains closed until further notice

12 31 Church Street, Pembroke Dock – Flooding reported – Sandbags deployed
