AN award-winning actress, singer and comedienne took time out from her busy schedule to raise money for Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru.

Dillie Keane, best known as one third of the comedy cabaret trio Fascinating Aida, performed a special one woman show at Ysgol Dewi Sant back in July.

She entertained a full house with some brand new songs, alongside some old favourites, songs of love and melodies of disgraceful filth!

Dillie, who has been nominated for an Oliver award and a Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival, was invited to St Davids by Julia Horton-Powdrill.

Julia wanted to raise money for Prostate Cancer after losing her husband Brian to the disease in 2014.

“Originally, Fascinating Aida, of which Dillie is one third of, were coming to perform,” said Julia.

“But sadly Adele is unwell, so Dillie, who was keen to support the charity, came on her own.

“She had a marvellous time staying in St Davids and is planning to return next year with Fascinating Aida to bring everyone their wicked wit and talent. Pembrokeshire won’t know what has hit it!”

The proceeds of Dillie’s solo show on July 3 raised £1,600, and Julia recently presented a cheque to Ralph Rees and Paul Phillips from Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru at the Farmers Arms in St Davids.

Mr Rees, Treasurer of the Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru, said: “This was a wonderful effort by Julia in putting on a fantastic evening which not only raised a substantial amount of money for Prostate Cymru, but also drew attention to a charity that is dedicated to fighting Prostate Cancer by procuring equipment and raising awareness in the Welsh Principality."
