PEMBROKESHIRE has been the stunning backdrop for yet another movie this week as top film stars began shooting in the county.

Stars Bill Nighy, former Bond girl Gemma Arterton and Sam Claflin, famous for his role in The Hunger Games movies, have been among those spotted at locations including Freshwater West.

They are in the county to film scenes for ‘Their Finest Hour and a Half’, the big screen adaptation of Lissa Evans’ novel, which is set in the Second World War.

Among those lucky enough to bump into the actors was 25 year-old Jessica Williams from Haverfordwest.

Jessica met Billy Nighy – the award winning star of such films as Love Actually – at Diablos in Narberth.

Despite a long day of filming, Jessica said the 65 year-old could not have been more friendly to those who asked for autographs and photographs.

“He was an absolute gentleman,” Jessica told the Western Telegraph.

"He was very kind and down to earth. He was interested in knowing about me which was lovely. He couldn't have been nicer.

“When he came in there was another table booked in close to his, where they were having an 18th birthday celebration and he was more than happy to have photos with them as well.

“He made the effort to approach everyone who was in there to talk to them and shake their hands.

He wasn't phased by the attention at all and made sure all the pictures everyone had with him were okay before he left."

And it seems that Pembrokeshire’s beauty had rubbed off on Nighy, who has also featured in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Jessica said: “He mentioned they had been filming very early in the morning down on the beach and that he had come to Tenby and Saundersfoot on holiday previously and that he had filmed in Swansea for his film Pride a few years back. He said it's very beautiful down here and everyone was happy the sun was out for the scenes they had been filming that day.

“Everyone who met him that night said how genuine he was and what a pleasure it was to meet such a friendly star!"

Filming is due to continue into next week.
