TWO promising young riders from Haverfordwest have secured places in the Charles Owen Racecourse Series finals at Aintree later this month.
James Bowen and Simon Morgan finished 1st and 3rd respectively in the 148cm race at Chepstow Racecourse, rounding off a successful series of qualifying races.
James and his pony Cudlic Verona have dominated the 148cm races this season, leaving them top of the table. Simon will also qualify after his third place secured him enough points for his pony, Touch Control, to take the final qualifying spot.
Aimed at riders between nine and 15 to promote the development of British jockeys and encourage them to enjoy the experience of a race day, Pony Racing helps youngsters make successful transitions in to the world of professional racing.
