The A40 was closed both ways near Letterston after an accident involving a car and a pedestrian on Wednesday night.
The accident has happened near to a railway bridge in the village of Newbridge.
Dyfed-Powys Police have issued the following statement:
“Police are investigating a road traffic collision which occurred just after 6.15pm tonight (18/11/15) on the A40 Fishguard to Letterston road, near the Trecwn turnoff.
A motor car and a pedestrian were involved in the collision.
The male pedestrian has been taken to hospital in what is described as a serious condition.
The driver of the vehicle has also been taken to hospital for treatment.
The road has been closed with diversions in place.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or was in that area at the time is asked to contact police on 101."
