WITH the festive season almost upon us Pembrokeshire’s towns are getting set to sparkle for Christmas 2015.

Fishguard: Friday, December 4, 6pm. Golden Mile The event will begin on the Golden Mile at 6pm with the light switch on, followed by a lantern parade from the Golden Mile to the Town Hall.

In the hall there will be a community Christmas fair, Santa’s grotto, crafts, EduPets, carol singing, nail makeovers and refreshments from the Soroptomists.

Santa’s grotto will be provided by the RNLI and Fishguard and Goodwick Lions will provide a small gift for each child.

Pembroke Dock: Friday, December 4, 6pm The lantern parade will lead the youth centre at 6pm, anybody who has made lanterns can pick them up at 5pm. The parade will end at Western Way car park where there will be a firework display from 6.30pm until 6.45pm. Father Christmas will be in his grotto from 11am until 3pm on Saturday, December 5th. Entry is free and Father Christmas will have a small gift for each child.

Saundersfoot: Friday, December 4, 6pm. Sensory Gardens.

The Christmas light switch-on marks the start of the three-day Saundersfoot St Nicholas Christmas market. On Friday there will be carols from Saundersfoot School Choir at 4.30pm and then a lantern parade between 5.30pm and 6pm. Father Christmas will be switching on the Christmas lights at the Sensory Gardens at 6pm.

St Davids: Saturday, December 5, 5pm. Cross Square.

The lights will be switched on by the Mayor of St Davids and there will be entertainment from the children of Ysgol Bro Dewi. After the ceremony on the square Santa will be in his grotto at the Memorial Hall. Primary aged children who attend Ysgol bro Dewi and playgroups in St Davids will receive a ticket to see Santa. Those who live outside the parish and would like a ticket can buy one from the National Trust shop in St Davids.

Milford Haven: Saturday, December 5, 5pm.

The entertainment commences at 3:00 pm, with free children's rides, free glowsticks, and performances from the Neyland Ladies Choir, outside the Town Hall, and the Nantucket Wailers, outside the Police Station in Charles Street. Local schoolchildren will participate in the lantern parade, which will leave from outside the Police Station in Charles Street at 4:30 pm. The Christmas lights will be switched on at approximately 5:00 pm.

Cardigan: Saturday, December 5, 4pm to 5pm. Guildhall Cardigan The Christmas lights will be switched on outside the Guildhall in Cardigan with accompaniment from the school choir.
