PLANS for a major £10.5 million extension of Ysgol Bro Gwaun in Fishguard will be available to view at a drop-in session at the school on Monday, December 14.
Members of the public are invited to come and view the architects’ plans at Ysgol Bro Gwaun between 3.30pm and 6pm.
The new development aims to provide a 21st century learning environment in Fishguard for 11 to 16 year olds.
Officers from Pembrokeshire County Council’s education department and appointed architects, Stride Treglown, will be on hand to answer questions and listen to feedback from the school and local community.
The proposed development includes: • A brand new extension • Limited refurbishment of part of the existing school building • Demolition of the remainder of the school building It also includes the creation of a Learning Resource Centre and a Portfield School Satellite Unit on the Ysgol Bro Gwaun site, plus new community learning facilities.
The investment would be made as part of the 21st century schools programme, which is supported by the Welsh Government.
“Everyone with an interest in the future of education in this area is welcome to come along on Monday, December 14 and find out more about the proposals,” said Cllr Jamie Adams, Leader of Pembrokeshire County Council.
