THERE’S a chance to celebrate everything that’s great about libraries this Saturday, February 6, as part of National Libraries Day.

This year’s event is bigger than ever, with a variety of events planned at libraries across Pembrokeshire.

Three libraries will be welcoming local authors for a morning of stories and discussion.

Children’s writer Wendy Kehoe will be visiting Newport Library; Dan Anthony will be reading from his new book Steve and the Singing Pirates at Narberth Library, and Saundersfoot Library will be hosting the writer Thorne Moore.

Fishguard Library will be holding a craft session and a special Love my Library photo booth, while there will be an opportunity to join staff at Haverfordwest Library for a coffee and hot chocolate morning.

Milford Haven and Tenby libraries are both holding a coffee morning and book sale, and Neyland and Newport libraries will have special reading tombolas.

And Pembroke Dock Library will have a special Sci-Fi and Fantasy theme not only on National Libraries Day, but throughout the whole of February.

This year, Scolton Manor is also joining in the fun with a Lovely Little Book Sale, a sale of second-hand books, between 11am and 4pm. There will also be a sale at the Scolton Manor gift shop, with 10 per cent off everything.
