The Cleddau Bridge, the link between north and south Pembrokeshire, has been closed for much of Monday due to the onset of Storm Imogen.

The Bridge was closed to all traffic due to the extremely high winds but has now re-opened.

The highest wind speed recorded on the bridge this morning (Monday) has been 92.8mph, surpassed last night by a gust of 95mph.

Closure to high sided vehicles is likely to be in place at least until late this evening.

Travellers are advised to check the status of the bridge before travelling.

Alternative routes are expected to be busy.

There were reports of long queues between Canaston Bridge and Haverfordwest as drivers detour via Carew.

County Council crews have been carrying out traffic control at Carew Bridge due to the extra traffic generated from Cleddau Bridge Closure.

One again, Newgale has taken a battering over night.

A photo from Newsurf shows the sea defences again being breached and the road was closed through the area due to flooding and pebbles blocking the road.

The county council said about 200 tons of pebbles were on the road.

The road re-opened but has since closed again as high tide approaches.

 

Ysgol Bro Dewi Church in Wales VA Primary School, St Davids was also closed due to travel difficulties.

  • Pembroke Dock tesco petrol station closed due to structual damage.

•    Part of the roof of St Davids Fire Station has been dislodged and Nun Street St Davids is closed.

•    pebbles across road at Amroth but it remains open.

•    tree down on road leading into Jefferston from Ford Bridge.

•    Tree down with a power line on the footway near Picton Centre on the A4076 Freemen’s Way, Haverfordwest 

•    Tree down between Cosheston and Milton, blocking the road near the junction to Upton.

•    window blown in at flats at Robert Street, Milford Haven
•    tiles off roofs at Howarth Close and the Mount, Milford Haven
•    tiles off roofs at Strongbow Walk, Pembroke Dock
•    door blown in council property at Monkton, Pembroke
•    tree down blocking road between Clarbeston Road and Llys-y -Fran
•    tree down in road at Station Road, Letterston
•    tree down between Pentlepoir and Saundersfoot
•    tree down on main road into Tenby
•    pebbles washed onto road at Wisemans Bridge.

•    due to difficulties accessing the roof at St Davids fire station, Ysgol Bro Dewi will remain closed for the rest of the day. Nun Street, St Davids, will remain closed until the wind subsides.

•    report of a tree down onto a vehicle on the A477 between Sageston and Milton

•    tree down blocking road on B4329 between Eglwyswrw and Crosswell.

•    tiles off roofs at Croft Avenue, Hakin, at College Park and Gothic Road in Neyland

•    tree blocking road between Pentlepoir and Saundersfoot has been cleared.
