THE community of Jeffreyston now has its own public access defibrillator thanks to fundraising by the children and friends committee of St Oswald’s V.A. School.
With the help of the charity Cariad Defibrillators, the new machine is installed at the main school entrance and will be available for use by members of the public in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.
On behalf of the school’s friends committee, Lucy Clissold thanked everyone who had helped the appeal, including local businesses who donated raffle prizes and vouchers.
“We wanted to do something positive and provide something that could benefit anyone in our community,” she said.
