THE Friends of South Pembs Hospital recently received a large cheque from the pupils of Cosheston VC School.

The money was raised by the pupils when they were invited to sing carols at the lighting of the Christmas tree at Cosheston Brewery.

Thanks go to John and Steve for their hospitality.

Friends and residents joined in to make the evening a wonderful community event and £142 was raised for The Friends of South Pembs Hospital.

The cheque was recently presented to representatives of The Friends by some of the pupils.

The Friends would like to thank all the other participating schools who sang carols in the Pembroke Dock Asda store before Christmas, and all the customers who helped them in their fundraising. Together with Cosheston, in excess of £600 was raised.

All funds raised and donated to The Friends go towards much-needed items, which hospital funding cannot manage to purchase, items such as new wheelchairs, mattress replacement, and blood pressure monitors, to name but a few.

More than £100,000 has been raised by The Friends over the past 10 years.

The regular fundraiser is the coffee morning and table-top sale, which takes place on the second Tuesday of each month in Pembroke Town Hall, the next being in the lead-up to Easter on Tuesday March 8.

Among the stalls will be a wide variety of craft, home-made cakes, bric-a-brac and an Easter raffle, plus delicious coffee and tea with Welshcakes. All are welcome and entry is free.
