TV cameras were rolling at Freshwater West today (Thursday) as BBC's popular Springwatch programme filmed in Pembrokeshire.

Presenters Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan were rolling up their sleeves for a beach clean at Freshwater West, as part of the Springwatch: Do Something Great Campaign - which will be asking viewers to get out and sign up for a range of voluntary activities, all designed to help UK wildlife.

The pair were also looking at how plastics affect the environment, and what we can all do to help.

Stackpole School pupils helped out with the beach clean.

Springwatch is filming an Easter special in the county which will look back at the Sea Empress disaster 20 years ago and also travel to Skomer Island to explore the famous island life.

Transmission date for the programme is expected to be announced this week.
