Exercise Griffin Strike, a major joint military exercise involving British and French forces, will be held between the 17th and 23rd of April.

As part of this Templeton airfield will play an important role during this period - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It will be a base for around 500 personnel and more than a dozen helicopters including Chinooks, Apaches, Merlins and Wildcats.

These aircraft will be supporting ground troops and will be flying by both day and night and hence noise and movement will be above the routine business of the airfield.

A local bridle way will also be closed by the council at the behest of the landowner, Defence Infrastructure Organisation.

Joint Helicopter Command offers in advance its thanks to local residents and the wider community for their understanding during this very valuable exercise.
