URDD Gobaith Cymru, or the Urdd as it more commonly known, has a very good membership base at Pembroke’s Golden Grove School.

Through its activities our pupils are able to take part in a wide range of sporting, artistic, cultural and other activities.

The school rugby team excelled recently in the Urdd Festival at Camrose.

Topping the group of Maenchlochog, Glan Cleddau, Tavernspite and Neyland, the team won through to the quarter final where it put in two very strong performances to beat Prendergast and then Hook in the semi-final.

Pitting their strengths against a strong Tenby team in the final proved to be a game too far. The team, however, performed brilliantly all day,

The team members can be immensely proud of their efforts to be runners-up in this Pembrokeshire event.

The school would like to say a big thank you to Lee Griffiths for all his work with the team, and thank you to Mark Boswell for his assistance on the day, and thank you to all the parents for their support in Camrose.
