THE Miss Wales 2016 grand final this month has seen 20-year-old Bryony Thomas crowned Miss Pembrokeshire 2016.

The title was awarded at the grand final of Miss Wales 2016, which took place at the Princess Royal Theatre in Port Talbot last weekend.

The Miss Wales grand final involved three appearances on the stage for finalists including the patriotic Welshwear opener; a red dress catwalk round and then the traditional evening wear parade. All finalists also had one to one interviews with the panel of six judges.

As well as the grand final show, the contestants attended the Miss Wales Charity Ball the night before and took part in the Miss Wales Empowerment Day to help them in their personal development and leadership skills. They also did a series of challenges and fundraising in the run up to the final.

In total the competition raised more than £22,000 for the Miss World charity, Beauty With A Purpose.

Bryony – an estate agent from Haverfordwest - said: “It is an honour to represent the region. I intend to use the title to do my friends, family and the community proud. Miss Wales has been a fantastic experience for me and I really would urge more girls from the region to get involved next year.”

Paula Abbandonato, who organises the Miss Wales event, said: “The whole weekend was an incredible experience and a real celebration of the achievements of all the finalists who have worked so hard in the run up to the big night.”

This year, the overall title of Miss Wales 2016 went to 23-year-old Ffion Moyle from Carmarthen.
