POLICE have been conducting a training exercise in the Pembroke Dock area yesterday afternoon, May 24.
The Western Telegraph received several phone calls from members of the public about police vehicles, including motorcycle outriders, escorting what appeared to be vehicles with blacked out windows.
Police have confirmed to the WT that it was an exercise and no need for members of the public to be concerned.
A Dyfed Powys Police spokeswoman said: "Officers from Dyfed Powys Police’s Roads Policing Unit are currently taking part in a ‘VIP’ training course.
"Any escorting of vehicles spotted in the Pembrokeshire area is part of this training, which is carried out periodically to ensure officers are prepared for such an eventuality."
