Emergency services have been called to Fishguard’s Golden Mile after reports of a car crashing through a shop window.

The Western Telegraph understands that the vehicle reversed through the plate glass window of the Fishguard Fruit and veg shop. The business is also a coffee shop which has seating directly in front of the plate glass window.

There was also damage to neighbouring business JJ Morris.

An ambulance spokesman said:

"We were called shortly after 1pm this afternoon to reports of a one-vehicle accident on West Street in Fishguard.

"We sent a paramedic in a rapid response car and a crew in an emergency ambulance to the scene, but were not required as police were dealing."

The Western Telegraph’s live traffic reports states that three vehicles were involved in the incident.

An eyewitness at the scene that  a red car had hit the veg shop, reversed into the Citroen Picasso behind and then had swung into the estate agents.

He said that no-one was hurt but that the driver was still sat in the car, possibly in shock

The written off Picasso is understood to belong to holiday makers who were again very shaken but with no injuries.

Another eyewitness said that there was a crash followed by sirens. We have been told that an ambulance and police cars are currently at the scene and are awaiting statements from the emergency services.
