Cliff Benson of the Sea Trust of South and West Wales is inviting you to join him at the forth porpoise picnic to be held during Wales Biodiversity Week next week.

"At last year's picnic we were lucky enough to have a humpback whale as a surprise guest star," Cliff said.

"We watched its amazing display of breaching and blowing for over thirty minutes. Who would ever have believed it? This was probably the first humpback whale seen from the Pembrokeshire coastal cliffs in a hundred years or more!"

Although Cliff can't promise you will see another humpback whale he can almost guarantee that you will be able to see its little cousin, the harbour porpoise.

The harbour porpoise feed in the tidal currents off Strumble Head and Sea Trust members have been watching them there for many years.

If you'd like to watch and learn about porpoise, sea birds and unknown 'guest stars' come along to the Porpoise Picnics between 11am and 2pm on the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th of June.

Parking is limited so you could walk or cycle to Strumble Head or catch the Strumble Shuttle bus, for times ring 0870 6082608.

It can be very exposed at Strumble Head, even from the lookout, so bring sensible clothing, a picnic and binoculars, if you have them.
