CHUNK, Sloth and the rest of the guys will light up the marina with their madcap adventures when the Goonies comes to Milford Haven, as part of this summer's Sunset Cinema programme.

The treasure-hunting teens will be followed by 80s classic Top Gun, with both being screened under the stars.

The Port of Milford Haven has confirmed it will be the main sponsor for the Torch Theatre’s Sunset Cinema programme for the next three years.

This will mean the Torch Theatre can continue its popular outdoor cinema screenings at venues across Pembrokeshire, including Milford Marina where ‘Back To The Future’ was broadcast to a 500-strong audience in 2015.

Neil Jenkins, Destination Director at the Port, commented “Our partnership with the Torch Theatre is very important to us and we are happy to support them in order to deliver a successful programme of outdoor cinema screenings for the next three years for the whole county to enjoy.

"Events such as outdoor cinemas are key to future developments at Milford Marina to transform it into a vibrant destination renowned for arts, culture and leisure activities.”

Artistic Director at the Torch Theatre, Peter Doran, said: "Following an experimental couple of years we have now purchased the necessary equipment to make this an annual event in Pembrokeshire.

"Watching a movie under the stars in some of the county’s most stunning locations on a balmy summer evening is a near-perfect experience and now families can enjoy the experience for years to come.

"This is a great example of two local companies working in partnership to benefit the local community.”

In addition to the cinema screenings, the Marina will also play host to an exciting outdoor performance by Motionhouse and Nofit State Circus, on August 3.

The Goonies will be screened on Sunday, August 7, and Top Gun on Wednesday, August 10.

Audiences can bring their own blankets, chairs and picnics, and food will also be available on site.
