Footage from the recent Sherlock filming in Tenby has emerged this week in a trailer for the much-anticipated Series 4.
Cast and crew descended on St Catherine’s Island last month for a two-day shoot.
Although fans of the BBC Wales blockbuster programme failed to spot stars Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the detective, or Martin Freeman in the role of his sidekick Dr Watson, there was plenty of action on and around the island.
Balaclava-clad henchmen were seen on the beach and rocks; a helicopter swooped in low and what was understood to be the flag of Holmes’ nemesis, Moriarty, was flying from the island fort during the filming.
The villain himself, played by Andrew Scott, makes n enigmatic appearance at the start of the trailer where he can be heard uttering the words “miss me?”
And Holmes then muses: “Something’s coming. Maybe it’s Moriarty. Maybe it’s not….”
Action shots inside the fort and the helicopter in flight feature in the 90-second trailer, which gives a number of clues to the content of the show’s fourth series, which is predicted to be the “darkest yet”.
