A TEENAGER who suffered a serious head injury after falling from her skateboard is making a good recovery.
In early August, Georgia Fairthorne, 19, was visiting family in Nolton Haven when she fell from her skateboard and hit her head.
She suffered two bleeds on the brain and spent a week in an induced coma. She had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Now, three weeks on, and with her family being told to 'expect the worst' by surgeons, Georgia has made a miraculous recovery, having recently left hospital and returned home.
She has also posted an update on Facebook herself, with her hair growing back.
Georgia's mum Emma had previously set up a blog via Facebook to help friends and family keep up to date with her daughter' progress.
'Georgia on my mind' has over 21,000 likes and now Emma is aiming to raise awareness of the dangers of not wearing a helmet having set up a petition asking for it to be a legal requirement to wear a helmet when cycling, skateboarding or riding a scooter which has already had nearly 2000 signatures.
Emma used the 'Georgia on my mind' Facebook page to thank everyone for their kind words during Georgia's stay in hospital.
