A man has died after being hit by a train at Whitland railway station last night (Sunday).
Police and ambulance were called to the station just after 8pm after reports that the train had struck a person.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "We attended alongside colleagues from Dyfed-Powys police and the Welsh Ambulance Service; however, a 27-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"His family have been informed.
"We are not currently treating his death as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the Coroner."
It is thought that it was a freight train which was involved in the incident.
The tragedy resulted in Arriva Trains Wales rail services into Pembrokeshire being disrupted for the remainder of the evening, with buses running to destinations along the lines between Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock/Clarbeston Road.
